The evening class we have been running on Wednesday evenings at Ivybridge Community College at Ivybridge Community College have
proved to be so popular that we are now starting a second class, on Tuesday evenings.
These classes are very informal !
Each week
we have an exercise ready to teach the group, but we are quite happy if students prefer to bring along a piece of 'work in progress'
to work on. We usually find the group divides, with some students taking part in the exercise, others pursuing their own work. We
are constantly available to offer advice, demonstrate techniques, encourage and, hopefully, inspire.
The evening classes are
open to all abilities. We currently have students who opened their first tubes of watercolour paint in their first Moor to Sea Arts
evening class, through to a few accomplished watercolourists who have recently started selling their work!
These evenings are
'studio' based. We have been lucky enough to have use of one of the art rooms, which not only provides us with more than adequate
facilities but is also a constant source of inspiration due to the high quality of art displayed in the department.
Students
bring their own materials. We supply tuition, and tea & coffee throughout the evening.
Due to the informal nature of this
course you may join us at any point, paying for however many sessions remain of the half term. It is not necessary to book in advance,
but due to the popular nature of these classes it is advisable to contact us by telephone or email before coming, rather than just
turning up.
One word of warning ~ these classes requires a sense of humour! There are usually two tutors present as neither of
us is prepared to miss this class unless we have to!
