Moor to Sea Arts Tuition
Summer School
Rob Dudley
We have no 'watercolour secrets' at Moor to Sea Arts - we are happy to share with you all the tips, tricks and techniques we know.
Siān Dudley
The main aim of this Summer School is to give students the opportunity to have an extended period of uninterrupted painting
under the guidance of friendly and informative tutors, in the company of other watercolour enthusiasts.
The idea is that these
workshops will be student led. To this end there will be little formal teaching to the group; rather we will respond to what
students bring along. We will offer advice on an individual basis throughout the workshops. In addition we are happy to set up exercises
either as requested by students, or where we see that it might help to master a technique. It is likely that we will each do a demonstration
at some point over the 3 days. Given the nature of the workshops it is unlikely that we will go out to paint, but we wouldnt rule
it out!
These workshops should be an excellent opportunity for you to complete one or more paintings, taking a painting through
from initial idea to finished piece.
Alternatively you may use the time to fill some gaps in your knowledge of watercolour. We often
hear I know its not right, but I dont know why!. If you recognise this sentiment we would recommend you bring along some
of your previous work for some very constructive criticism, and a plan for how you can improve your work.
To get the most out of these
sessions it would be a very good idea to have some idea of what you would like to achieve during the workshop before you come.
Both Rob and Siān are more than happy to discuss this with you beforehand.
The Summer School is open to everyone. All abilities
are welcome but these sessions will be of greater benefit to those with some previous experience in watercolour painting. Complete
beginners might like to consider attending a Taster Day (see Taster Days) You may book for one, two or all three days.
