‘homework’ challenge
set up a ‘doodle corner’
Find a small convenient space in your home to set up some materials that you can leave out. The important word here is convenient. make it somewhere that you spend a few minutes regularly, e.g. near the kettle, or near where you sit when you are on the phone.
Don’t make a make a big deal of it. Select just a few items that don’t take up much space, or require too much cleaning. Make it something you can pick up easily and doodle with for just a few minutes at a time. You’ll be surprised at how much you can learn by doodling regularly!
See the photo for an example of a Doodle Corner I had set up at home for a while.
Quote of the week
Just make it exist first. You can make it good later.
Trying it…
Try this simple technique using masking tape as a mask in a painting.
Remember that masking tape can be cut to shape, either as single strips or as strips stuck together and cut into a shape. It can be a useful alternative to masking fluid , especially for large areas or those where you want a particularly crisp line.
