This week I’ve chosen the painter David Curtis and one of my favourite books, ‘Light and Mood in Watercolour’.

Curtis is considered by many to be a modern master of the watercolour medium. His paintings are full of light in all its guises. And although he might not include a ‘yellow spot’ to depict the sun, his handling of both paint and tone clearly displays his understanding of sunlight. From bright sun filled mediterranean street scenes, to soft diffused, misty autumn days in in Britain, Curtis captures them all.
