‘homework’ challenge
the weather looks like it is going to be good this week. Go outside, choose a plant ( flower, bush, tree…your choice). make.
Make observations of your subject three times during the day, morning , afternoon, and evening. Stare at it, noting shapes, colours and tones (including shadows). Spend about 5 minutes each time, just looking.
If time allows you could improve your observations by making drawings of the subject at the different times . No masterpieces expected, just sketches for your own that note your observations.
Quote of the week
A new study shows that buying supplies for a hobby (art) prolongs your life. Looks like I’m going to be immortal.
WE SAW…
Adjust your expectations. At sunset you’d expect an orange glow in the sky, but here the sky is still blue/grey. The trees and parts pf the church are glowing orange. Don’t assume, observe carefully.
