AUTUMN TERM 2025
DATES : Looking ahead to the autumn term we are working on these proposed dates:
Tuesdays : Sept 23rd to Dec 9th. No class on October 28th (half term). 11 weeks
Wednesdays : September 24th to December 10th. No class on October 29th ( half-term) 11 weeks
These dates will need to be confirmed, but will not start earlier or finish later.
FEES : As you are all aware our expenses have increased dramatically this year. We are therefore considering a small increase in the fees for the autumn term of £1.50 a week.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
As those of you coming to the Kingsbridge classes are very aware our numbers have dropped considerably. If you know of anyone who might like to join an art class please encourage them to come along. We are always happy to chat to people on the phone if they would like to know more.
Also, would any of you have anywhere where you could put up a notice or flyer in your local shop/village hall/church? If you would be prepared to help us out with this please let us know and we could produce a poster for the beginning of September. And if you are a social media user, please spread the word the way too :)
‘homework’ challenge : carry on sketching and painting!
Draw, draw and draw some more!
There is a long break between now and the start of next term. Keep drawing, keep painting!
Quote of the week
“The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.”
Stephen McCranie
what we saw…
Sumer time, and we are off to spend some time failing in our studios. And if you think we are joking, yesterday saw Rob scraping off two attempts at an oil painting, while Siân was busy spending a couple of hours scrubbing underglaze off a number of ceramic pieces. So, no image of what we saw this week; Rob’s is on a messy rag in his bin, and mine is floating around the bottom of my sink trap. So we are off to start again.
And the moral of this story is KEEP TRYING!
CLASS NOTICEBOARD : Any new items to be added? please email details and they will be added by the following class.
